Week 29

How far along? 29 weeks
Size of baby? Butternut Squash (15 inches long, weighs 2.5 pounds)
Maternity clothes? Oh ya, with each week that passes, my options are dwindling.

Sleep? Just ok, I'm having to get up to use the bathroom more often lately.
Movement? Yes!
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No

Symptoms? Rib pain on the right side only (from the top of the uterus pushing into them) and pain in the lower stomach (round ligament pain) from all the weight this little gal has put on. It's only going to get worse too :)
Gender? Girl!
Looking forward to? Florida in about a week!
Best moment this week? Receiving so many sweet and thoughtful gifts in the mail for our girl! I was starting to feel way unprepared for her arrival and then our families and friends changed that. We now have a car seat, stroller, crib mattress, sheets, blankets, a boppy (to help with nursing and propping the baby up) and more! Jimbo and I have loved putting stuff together and it's starting to feel like were getting closer to our baby's arrival!
Fun Fact about baby? Baby is growing rapidly from her on out. Her head is getting bigger to accommodate her growing brain. Her skeleton is hardening so she needs a lot of Calcium.

Week 28

Third trimester, baby girl!

How far along? 28 weeks
Size of baby? Large Eggplant (14.8 inches long, weighs 2.25 pounds)
Maternity clothes? Yes and I've upgraded to wearing Jimbo's shirts to sleep, thanks to his recommendation. They are much more comfortable!

Sleep? It's hit or miss. I either sleep hard and feel great or I just lay there wide awake with aches and pains.
Movement? Yes, she kicks, punches and rolls a lot. She's just like her momma though, not much of a morning person and waits until afternoon to get really fired up and active.
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No

Symptoms? Rib pain and pain in the lower abdomen area. By the end of the day it hurts so bad and its hard for me to walk far. But once I rest and get the weight off of the area, I feel much better.
Gender? Girl!
What I miss? So much...feeling pain free, my old body, drinking a beer, drinking caffeine guilt-free, sleeping comfortably. We're getting there though and before I know it, our baby will be here and it will all be worth it.
Looking forward to? Our trip to Florida to see family and friends and have a baby shower! It's going to be so much fun and a great weekend!
Best moment this week? Getting the glucose screen over and done with! I was not looking forward to it because I hear nothing but complaints about it, but it wasn't bad at all. It was just a sugary, orange flavored drink and a blood draw. Oh, and while I was waiting an hour to have my blood drawn, I jumped up and held the door open for an elderly couple. The gentleman was in a wheelchair and his wife was pushing him. They were so thankful and happy that I helped them. It was so cute. Once they got through the door, the woman stopped and turned towards me and thanked me again and then rubbed my belly and said "thank you to your baby too!" It was hilarious.
Fun Fact about baby? She's reflexively blinking and adding even more fat. Her lungs are pretty mature now.

Week 27

How far along? 27 weeks
Size of baby? Head of Lettuce (14.5 inches long, weighs 2 pounds)
Maternity clothes? Oh ya!

Sleep? Not so good this week. If it's not my back hurting, I have to get up to use the bathroom. I now get up twice a night to go to the bathroom. Not sleeping at night makes me need a nap in the middle of the afternoon.
Movement? Yes! She is starting to roll a lot, which feels weird and looks crazy on the outside!
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No, but I realized cilantro is kind of ruined from when I ate it during the first trimester :( I can still eat it, but I don't love it like I used to. Bummer!

Symptoms? Still having back pain, rib pain, leg cramps, and really sore muscles in my lower abdomen area.
Gender? Girl :)
What I miss? The ability to use my abs like I used to. It's such a job to get up out of bed. I had no idea it'd be so hard.
Looking forward to? Third trimester! I'm also interested to see what it feels like if/when she gets the hiccups.
Best moment this week? Jimbo and I bought our little girl her very first outfit (from us). It is an American romper, perfect for the Fourth of July next year! And it was only $3 so that made me excited haha!
Fun Fact about baby? Baby is breathing amniotic fluid and officially shows brain activity. She sleeps and wakes at regular intervals, opens and closes her eyes, and sucks on her fingers.

Week 26

How far along? 26 weeks
Size of baby? Head of Cabbage (14 inches long, weighs 1.6 pounds)
Maternity clothes? Yes! I'm even starting to outgrow some of the clothes that I bought for this pregnancy!

Sleep? Pretty good! As long as I support my back. And if I don't get a leg cramp in the middle of the night.
Movement? Yes, I love her kicks!
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No

Symptoms? Back pain, rib pain, leg cramps, and really sore muscles in my lower abdomen area at the end of the day. When I do a lot of walking, it hurts pretty bad at night.
Gender? Girl! Girl! Girl!
Looking forward to? Seeing how our baby showers turn out and finally getting some things for this baby! I can't wait because it will feel like she'll be here soon :)
Best moment this week? Getting the baby room completely cleaned out and setting up the very few items that we have for her.
Fun Fact about baby? The nerves in her ears are much more developed so she's listening to me and Jimbo talk to each other. She's practicing breathing by inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. She is soaking up my antibodies!

Hello, belly button!
