Week 20

Half way there, baby!

How far along? 20 weeks
Size of baby? Banana (the length of a banana, not the weight) (6.5 inches from head to bottom/ 10 inches from head to heel, 10.5 ounces)
Maternity clothes? I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy clothes, but Jimbo took me on a shopping spree for maternity clothes this past weekend since I am about to bust out of my old ones haha!

Have you started to show yet? Yes!!
Sleep? Pretty good still

Movement? Lots!! Jimbo was able to feel the baby kick for the first time and it was the strongest, hardest kick I have felt so far. The baby really saved up her energy for the kick for her daddy.
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No :)

Symptoms? Not much this week, just some stretching to make room for the growing baby.
Gender? GIRL!!!!
Looking forward to? Shopping!! We now know the gender and plan to register soon. I can't wait to start collecting little girl outfits!
Best moment this week? Finally getting to see our little angel at our first ultrasound. She is so beautiful and very active. She moved her arms for us and was trying to cover her face, but we got to see her in between her movements.
Fun Fact about baby? She's practicing using her digestive system by swallowing and creating meconium (poop, basically). We'll get to see this lovely stuff during her first diaper changes when she gets here.

Week 19

How far along? 19 weeks
Size of baby? Mango (6 inches, 8.5 ounces)
Maternity clothes? I'm still wearing my old clothes.

Have you started to show yet? Yes, definitely!
Sleep? Pretty good still

Movement? Lots of flutters, can't wait until you can feel them on the outside.
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No!

Symptoms? Just a general full feeling. The belly is starting to make it's presence known and it can be hard to find a comfortable position to lay in.
Looking forward to? We have our first ultrasound on Tuesday!! I'm so excited to find out if this is a little girl or boy!
Best moment this week? Feeling the baby move more.
Fun Fact about baby? The brain is making specialized areas for smell, taste, vision, hearing and touch. The baby can hear us now! Hair is starting to sprout on the baby's scalp.
Gender? Soon!

Week 18

This has been my favorite week of pregnancy so far! So many great things happening!

How far along? 18 weeks
Size of baby? Bell Pepper (5.5 inches long, weighs 7 ounces)
Maternity clothes? Not this week

Have you started to show yet? Yes! We went to dinner and a baseball game and I wore a fitted shirt. The hostess at the restaurant said to me "You have the cutest little baby bump!" And it made my day!! I was so shocked that she could tell that I was pregnant and of course Jimbo tried to trick her by saying "She's not pregnant..." but she didn't fall for it :)
Sleep? Great!

Movement? YES!! The day of the baseball game I felt the baby move around a lot! It felt just like they said it would...little flutters or popcorn popping inside my stomach. That really was the best day!
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? Nope!!

Symptoms? I've been having a lot of cramps so I know the baby is growing a lot this week. I've been drinking plenty of water, don't worry.
Looking forward to? Our first ultrasound coming up in a couple of weeks and finding out the gender!
Best moment this week? Feeling the baby move for the first time and having the baby bump noticed by a stranger :) We also received a gift from one of my best friends and it is awesome!!! It's a book and it's pretty funny :)
Fun Fact about baby? The baby spends it's time flexing it's arms and legs. The blood vessels are visible through thin skin. If it's a girl, her uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in their final place.
Gender? We'll know soon!

Charleston, SC

We spent some of Memorial Day Weekend in Charleston, SC. It was such a beautiful city! We enjoyed some local restaurants, took a carriage ride, walked through the local Market, walked along the Battery and watched the dolphins swimming, spent some time on the pier at Folly Beach, visited Angel Oak Tree, stopped by Kiawah Island and drove around the countryside.

Here are some pictures from the trip:

Week 17

How far along? 17 weeks
Size of baby? Onion (5.1 inches long, weighs 5.9 ounces)
Maternity clothes? I'm wearing my medium sized shirts to give myself some more breathing room. I'm in the awkward in between stage so I'm not liking the feeling of fitted shirts. I also bought some maternity shorts a few weeks ago because of a good deal, but I busted them out and decided to wear them this week (mostly because we went out of town and I wanted more options while on vacation). They fit great so I think I'll be sporting them for the rest of the pregnancy :)

Have you started to show yet? Yes, close friends and family are starting to notice and comment on the little baby bump!
Sleep? Great!

Movement? Not yet
Food cravings? No
Anything making you queasy or sick? No :)

Symptoms? Nothing this week
Looking forward to? Feeling the baby move and our first ultrasound! We were finally able to schedule it and I can't wait to see the baby! And we should be able to find out the gender too!! It's not for another 2-3 weeks though so hold tight!
Best moment this week? Jimbo and I took a mini vacation to Charleston for Memorial Day Weekend. It was so wonderful!! The city is beautiful, the food was good, and we had so much fun with each other. Many memories made :) Also, when we got back from the weekend, we had an OB appointment and the baby's heartbeat is still strong and was much easier to find this time. It was 158 and my abdomen is measuring right on track. Momma was told to eat more and add in some shakes so that I can put on some more weight. It's not a huge deal and who doesn't like to hear they can and should eat more? :)
Fun Fact about baby? The rubbery cartilage is turning into bone, sweat glands are forming, it can move it's joints, and the umbilical cord is getting stronger and thicker. The baby can now hear us talking to him/her!
Gender? Hopefully we'll know in a couple of weeks!
