Crazies...

A couple of weekends ago, Buck killed a copperhead in our woods out back. It was about 3 feet long and a fatty.

This picture cracks me up...I was squatting down to take the  picture and Buck picked up the snake to give it to me. It came flying towards my lap and I went flying backwards haha!

The Making of a Dining Room

You probably remember our dining room looking like this....

Empty, plain, boring. And it pretty much stayed that way for the first year, ha! We don't have a table and Jimbo wanted to build one so we put it off until we had the time, money, etc. to devote towards the room. 

So here we are! :)

First, we painted. We agreed on a blue-grey color by Valspar called Retro-Colonial Blue. We wanted something classic and traditional.

I taped off the room and primed it before Jimbo got home from Afghanistan. I even had a great friend help me prime it! 

All primed!

We used a sprayer to paint the room so we closed off the doors and windows to prevent paint particles from flying around the house.

It looked like a crime scene in here!

Don't forget to wrap the chandelier!

The coffered ceiling really pops now. The to do list for the rest of the room looks something like this:

• Crown molding around the beams
• Build a dining room table
• Find dining room chairs to go with our table
• Possibly build a buffet to go with our table and to use for storage
• Wainscotting
• Find curtains that Jimbo will agree on
• Hang art on the bare walls
• Accessorize with place settings, etc
