Empty, plain, boring. And it pretty much stayed that way for the first year, ha! We don't have a table and Jimbo wanted to build one so we put it off until we had the time, money, etc. to devote towards the room.
So here we are! :)
First, we painted. We agreed on a blue-grey color by Valspar called Retro-Colonial Blue. We wanted something classic and traditional.
I taped off the room and primed it before Jimbo got home from Afghanistan. I even had a great friend help me prime it!

It looked like a crime scene in here!
Don't forget to wrap the chandelier!
The finished product!! (For now...there will be more updates soon!)
The coffered ceiling really pops now. The to do list for the rest of the room looks something like this:
- Crown molding around the beams
- Build a dining room table
- Find dining room chairs to go with our table
- Possibly build a buffet to go with our table and to use for storage
- Wainscotting
- Find curtains that Jimbo will agree on
- Hang art on the bare walls
- Accessorize with place settings, etc
Stay tuned....
