Weeks 4-11

Now that the news is public, I can share my pictures and details of the pregnancy so far!

The day after I got a positive pregnancy test, I went in to my doctor's office and got blood drawn to confirm the pregnancy. Once it was confirmed, they had me come in for more blood draws (7 tubes! Which I don't even do that many on my patients at the hospital haha!). Then I had an appointment with the nurse to answer a ton of questions and fill out some paperwork.

From weeks 4-7 I had some awful, painful cramps. They were a lot like menstrual cramps, but just out of control. It worried me that it could be something wrong with the baby, but the nurse assured me that I was just dehydrated. It was an everyday occurrence and it was so painful! It seemed like I was drinking water constantly, but it just wasn't enough. Luckily, at week 7 the cramps disappeared.

However, at week 7, the nausea took over. I know a lot of people say this, but I have no idea why they call it morning sickness. It was present all day and all night. I would wake up from a deep sleep and feel so bad. The best way I could describe the feeling to Jimbo was to compare it to a really bad hangover. Like when you move your head and the whole room spins. Or you know you need water, but the thought of drinking anything makes you want to be sick. Yuck haha! I will say that I found that it was worse when I hadn't eaten. When my stomach would normally start growling because I was hungry, it would instead feel nauseous. Week 11 is when it really started to ease up and now that I'm in week 12, I can say that the nauseous days are few and far between. Thank goodness!

The craziest part of being pregnant....the cravings and aversions! Before the morning sickness started, I was into eating really healthy. I wanted fresh salads, salmon, fruits, vegetables, etc. But once I was feeling sick, I couldn't stand anything. The only thing I had any desire to eat was pizza. Unfortunately, I ate so much pizza in a short amount of time that Jimbo and I were way burnt out on it haha! During week 11, I started getting my appetite back little by little. Hopefully it continues to get better because I've actually lost weight since my pre-pregnancy weight.

Now for some pictures!

Our Baby!!

This is our story about our baby :)

We found out that we were going to have a baby on Wednesday, February 20! I had taken a test earlier in the weekend, but it hadn't picked up on the Hcg yet. So when this test started showing a faint pink line, I had to do a double take and questioned my eyesight! I immediately ran downstairs to tell Jimbo (who had just walked in the door from work). I was yelling "Babe! Babe!" and he wasn't answering. I knew he was hiding to scare me (as he does almost everyday haha). I then yelled "Not now, babe! I have to show you something!" And of course he pops his head out and was ready to see what it was that I had to show him.

I said "I think I'm pregnant!" He said "You think?" I wasn't 100% sure because the line was a faint pink, but it slowly got darker after a few minutes had passed. We went out to dinner to celebrate and so that we could buy more pregnancy tests while we were out. I wanted the kind of test that clearly says "Pregnant" or "Not Pregnant" so that we could be sure.

We came home and I took another test that confirmed it...Pregnant!

We waited until Easter weekend to tell our families. We wanted to tell them in person and Easter weekend was the perfect time. We drove down to Florida on Friday. We first met up with Jimbo's mom in Jax for lunch to share the big news. She knew something was up right away and immediately asked "Are you pregnant?!" haha it was hilarious! She anticipated that I'd say yes and brought a little gift for the baby!!

We then drove to my parent's house. We arrived before my parents got home from work so we had to wait a few hours for everyone to get there. It seemed like time was dragging! Finally, everyone was in one place at the same time! We shared the news with them and everyone was so excited!

The next day, we were invited to an Easter celebration at Jimbo's grandparents. We were able to share the news with Jimbo's sister while we were there and then of course his grandparents and extended family! Again, everyone was so happy and we had a great time celebrating!

The baby received so much love that weekend! My sister Kayleigh got the baby his/her first Gator gear!!

My parents picked out the most perfect little Easter basket for the babe.

It was such an amazing weekend filled with so much love and excitement! I can already tell this is going to be one spoiled little baby!! It is the first grandchild on both sides of the family so there's going to be a lot of first's for us all :)

The King of Country

George Strait is a favorite of mine and Jimbo's. We've both wanted to see him in concert for our entire lives and it was something that was on our "bucket list". With this being his last tour ever, we knew we had to jump on the opportunity if we could. I googled his tour dates and sure enough, George was coming to Greensboro, NC in about a month! We booked our tickets right away! It was the best concert and such a great experience. The pictures aren't the best quality, but that's what happens when you're in a dark room with flashing lights haha!
