This week was a huge week in your development. You've started drooling like crazy so we think you're beginning the teething phase, although I know you won't get a tooth for a little bit. I've read that you start the teething process way before the first tooth actually pops through. We got you some new toys to hang off of your car seat and/or swing at home because when we visited our friends Kaitlyn, Lily and Weston, you showed a lot of interest in their toys. Most of the new toys are good for your gums too. You still prefer to bite on your hands instead of the toys though.
We also started you in your exersaucer. I was a little skeptical and I didn't know if you were quite ready, but your daddy knew you'd love it. And sure enough, you love it! We've already memorized the songs that it plays because you hit the toys so much haha!
You have found my necklaces that I wear around my neck. You wrap your fingers in them and pull. It's fun to see you so focused on an object and to watch you work your little hands and fingers to pick things up. You've also discovered yourself in the mirror. You squeal at yourself and stare yourself down. It's so funny to watch.
You started having a 5 hour stretch of sleep again a couple nights this week (followed by a 3 hour stretch and then a 2 hour stretch), so this leads me to believe that it is this thrush that prevents you from getting good sleep. Hopefully we can kick this once and for all so that we both can get some rest.
When laying on your back, you have been trying to sit straight up. You strain your head, neck and abs to try to sit up. It's crazy. You're only 3 months old! Another thing that surprised me that you've done at such a young age, is fight me when I'm trying to give you your thrush medications. I don't know how someone so little can fight me so hard haha. You swat your arms at the syringe and move your head from side to side to run away from the syringe. Your dad laughs and says "Fight it Lainey girl" because he knows you definitely get that from him.
We took you fishing for the first time this weekend! You were adorable and we had so much fun. Daddy built a fire for us because it was a little chilly and you were so interested in watching the flames.
The 3-6 month outfits that we have are barely fitting you. You are a chunky monkey and we love it!
You make us laugh everyday and we love you so much, sweet Lainey.
