(Warning: This is an extremely long post! It may be kind of boring with all of the details, but I'm using this blog as a way to keep track so that we will always have the memories :) Kind of like a diary!)
Our lives have taken a 180 degree turn! One piece of news that makes us both so excited is that we switched Army posts from Fort Knox, Kentucky to Fort Bragg, North Carolina!!!! We are much happier with this post and are so happy to be here! It is closer to home (about a 7 hour drive) and Winter will be kinder to me :)

The last two months have been wild! In the middle of May, we found out that we were going to move to NC and that we had 10 days to do this.This was such a surprise to us. So much so that I even had a job interview the day we found out because we thought we were going to be there for the summer. I still went to the interview in case things changed again and I got the job! But unfortunately had to turn it down since we were indeed moving.
We drove over to Bragg on May 20th and met with our realtor to tour quite a few homes. We found the one and put in an offer that night! They accepted our offer and we closed June 15th!!! More to come on that later...
On Memorial Day weekend, we headed down to Florida for a wedding that Jimbo was Best Man for. It was such a good time and we were so happy to be able to make it to Jimbo's best friend's wedding!

We had to leave FL before the Memorial Day festivities took place so that we could get back to Benning to pack our house and load everything that we could onto the trailer. We got back Sunday afternoon and worked hard for the rest of the night! Around 2 am I was woke up with food poisoning! Booo! How awful to have this happen when we're already crunched for time. J worked extra hard to get everything done and I tried as hard as I could to help. We passed the housing inspection and signed out on Tuesday, May 31st. We had a 16 foot Budget truck with my car attached to the back that was packed to the max! We also had J's truck loaded and our 16 foot trailer attached to his truck loaded with our heavy wood furniture.
We slept in a hotel in Columbus, GA that night and left the next morning for our 9 hour drive. By the time we got to our storage unit in NC, it was 8 pm. It took us 2.5 hours to unload everything out of the Budget and into the storage unit. We were able to leave J's truck and trailer in a spot at the storage unit which was very convenient! We were finally finished with that part of the move around 10:30 pm! When we tried to find a hotel for the night, we discovered that a lot of them were sold out. Uh oh! The third hotel we found had a room left so we snagged it. We finally got to bed around 1 am!!!

The next morning we finalized some things with our realtor and drove down to FL for a week of vacation!

We were able to visit with family and friends and we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary! My amazing parents saved the top tier of our wedding cake for the entire year and we all shared it for the celebration. J and I also got to make a toast using our flutes from our wedding that we totally forgot to use on our actual wedding day. I was so happy to finally get to use them!

On June 8th we drove from FL to NC for J to check into Fort Bragg and to do a walk-through on our home. We then turned around and drove back to FL for another week of leave. Then, the day we had been waiting for!!! June 15th! The day we could close on our home! We left FL at 1am to drive straight to our closing in NC. We successfully closed and the home is now ours :) We couldn't be more excited! It's a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home that was just built! It has 2.8ish acres and part of that land is protected woodlands so no one can build on it so we have a beautiful, lush green back yard!! We love it!

We made so many wonderful friends at Fort Benning and will miss them dearly, but it is a small Army so hopefully we will see them all again somewhere down the road :)
